Swoon

Loving prints (floral, mostly) and colour chaos.
I have a thing for brightly coloured furniture.

This is an amazing room.  I want one just like it.
The bookshelves, bench seat, mirror on the wall, chandelier, long wooden table...perfection.

THESEEE chairsss.

Itching to redecorate.

This Weeks Inspiration

This week I'm giving Valentine's Day a big Fuck You, and opting for some chick love instead.  My housemate and I are getting impaired on a Monday night and going out for a lovely dinner at The Keg while we thank our lucky charms we don't have to deal with anyone's shit but our own, right now.

Pictures of lovely, independent women, top knots and black leather, unreal landscapes, and intricate jewellery will be my inspiration for the week.

Beautiful Bookshelves 2.0

If you know me, you'll know that I have an incessant love of bookcases/shelves.  Although mine are currently strewn with school books in a completely unartistic, unaesthetic manner, it doesn't mean that I can't appreciate the beauty of them in the pictures.  Here are some of my latest finds.  (Promise, once I find the time I will rearrange and style mine, and post pictures!)

(I LOOOVE THIS ONE)

I love this untraditional showcase.  The books beautifully overwhelm the space, and the functions of a "bedroom" are thrown to the wayside.

Outfit Inspiration

Fashion Week is upon us, and although I obviously (and sadly) am not a part of it, I always look forward to photos of the collections and, sometimes more importantly, the street style.  And, just because you aren't participating in fashion week doesn't mean you can't celebrate it at home, right (and therefore participate in your own little way)? Here are some images of some wonderful outfits to (try to) replicate in honour of fashion week.
Awesome blazer, awesome clutch (and long beautiful legs).

Top knot, black leather, fur.  Everything fashionable right now.

This picture is so cute.  She looks so warm and practical, but totally stylish at the same time.

Shearling, long messy locks, black ankle boots, beautiful structured bag. The perfect mix of casual and put together.

perfectly imperfect.

Although the first image is of Kate Spade's immaculate apartment, I love the unusual use of the china cabinet as a bookshelf.  The rest of the images look so real - homes that look lived in and stylish; not staged. It is clear that there is so much beauty in imperfections.

Sidenote: I really want a pair of antlers to hang on my wall somewhere, although i'm scared they will totally creep me out.

a girl can dream.

(images from here, and unknown)

I will happily take any of these unreal closets...although they are all larger than my entire bedroom/upper floor. one day!

fast forward.

Voting for the Bloglovin awards opened my eyes to a few new blogs that I have recently fallen in love with.  I found these images on Natalie Off Duty, which features both original outfit posts and inspirational photos. After receiving about a foot and a half of snow yesterday, I am seriously looking forward to warmer temperatures and subsequently less layers.  I lovelove the navy blazer Natalie is wearing here, and the army green silk(?) tank.  Together they look so easy and comfortable, yet not at all too casual.  Also, thooooosee boots.
Cannot wait for the snow to melt.

The Little Things.

The beauty behind these images is so simple and pure.  A close up photograph of the little things that lay around your home (translation: the magnificent jewellery and accessories around your immaculately decorated and chic abode, according to these photos, haha).  Everyone should check out this new website, TheCoveted, which glimpses into the closets and lives of various personalities involved in the fashion industry. I am in love with the  beautiful images and informative and personal blurbs that accompany them.  Go look!

Sometimes its the little things that make a home, make a day, make a life.  Don't let them pass you by.
